The second and third floor additions are improving building functionality. Student pick-up and drop-off have also gone remarkably well considering the adjustments that have been made to the route.
Treasurer’s Report and Budget Proposal – Tamra Lambeth
Tamra explained that the number of line items on the budget has been reduced by combining categories on previous budgets.
The principal’s budget is reduced by half.
Classroom support is equalized so every certified teacher receives the same amount.
The Care Closet has a smaller starter budget than previous years, but the students
running it will support it through fundraising.
There is no change in the amount budgeted for grade level events.
This year’s budget is about $28,000. Right now, we have slightly under $14,000 but we have high hopes for our upcoming fundraisers.
Carrie made a motion to approve the budget which was seconded by Jessica.
Presidents’ Report – Laura Rettberg
Fundraising
Laura shared the details of the new banner fundraiser the PTO launched
this week: a custom banner featuring Lincoln graphics and business details will be hung on the fence around the track and maintained by the PTO for an initial fee of $1000 and $500 for subsequent annual renewals. The PTO has made a flyer that has a QR code connecting to the PTO’s Zeffy account for ease of use. Space is available on a first come, first served basis.
La Casa is hosting a dine-to-donate benefiting the Lincoln PTO Thursday, Sept. 10th. They will donate proceeds to the PTO based on total sales of dine-in and carry-out food.
St. Louis City 2 soccer is contributing $5 from each ticket bought through the PTO link for the game on Sept. 20 at Energizer Park.
The PTO will host a Color Run on November 6. Volunteers will be needed. The route will start at Lincoln and loop around Woodland. It is a family-friendly event that is open to all members of the community.
6th Grade Celebration will be held on October 23. It is a collaboration between
Lincoln and Liberty Middle Schools and will be planned by the respective schools’ guidance counselors but paid for by the PTO. This year it will be held at Lincoln.
How can parents help? Lincoln parents can help by:
Donating items on the Load the Lounge Amazon Wish List
Volunteering to make copies and laminate pages for teachers via a SignUp Genius
Volunteer at Northside Fridays via a SignUp Genius
Volunteer at Snack Cart Thursdays via a SignUp Genius
Volunteer to pop bags of popcorn for the Teacher’s Lounge via a SignUp Genius
To volunteer, make sure you have a current background check on file with the
district. The forms need to be sent directly to Katie Crumble at the district office.
Jessica had a question about how someone knows when their background check is approved. Mr. Cory will investigate the process and report back.
Links to all volunteer opportunities can be found on Lincoln PTO’s Linktree.
Laura invited questions or comments from the group. The meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting is November 12 at 6 p.m. on Teams
